The SportsBusiness Journal introduces their 2017 Forty Under 40 recipients. These 40 individuals have been selected as the leaders and innovators in the sports field who’ve made significant impacts before the age of 40.
We are proud to have two alumni, Daniel Cherry III C’02 and Vishal Shah C’02 have been recognized for their hard work and dedication to the sports industry.
Daniel Cherry III serves as the Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer for the Prudential Center & New Jersey Devils. He has helped to rebrand the organizations foundation through the creation of initiatives such as “Mile Around the Rock” connecting staff with the local Newark community. In his interview with The SportsBusiness Journal, he said, “If you believe you have a larger mission beyond the sport, you would lead yourself to do things that traditionally a sports team wouldn’t do, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
Vishal Shah is the Senior Vice President of Digital Media for the National Football League. He has taken the lead on many exciting projects for the NFL including helping to guide the leagues decision to create a streaming deal with Google/YouTube, Snapchat, Yahoo and Twitter. His dedication to his job can be seen through his efforts to help the NFL strategize how to use virtual reality and create deals. This past year Shah was awarded the “Commissioner’s Award,” the highest honor an employee can earn.
