Adi Wyner, Co-Director of Wharton Sports Analytics and Business Initiative presented at the SABR Virtual Analytics Conference, presented by Major League Baseball, Rawlings, and Sports Info Solutions, on March 14, 2021. The conference brings together the top minds in the baseball analytics community to discuss, debate, and share insightful ways to analyze and examine the great game of baseball.
Professor Wyner presented on his research, “Is the 3rd Time Through the Order Effect Real? Correcting for Lineup Order and Pitcher Quality Selection Bias”, that analyzed each MLB season, 2010 through 2019, independently, jointly, and in groups (with data from Retrosheet).
